An alternative archive of the not-quite-hidden but too often ignored fashion histories of U.S. women of color
The role of men’s baseball in the internment camps is well documented (on Public Radio International and in a Hollywood movie) but women’s volleyball goes largely unmentioned in the records of internment life.
(This isn’t exactly a fashion photograph but it’s such an amazing image AND it’s Friday so I’m including it here anyway.)
